About Sundial SEO

I’m Cat Pickett, a research nerd and Internet expert with a decade of industry-wide experience. I currently manage in-house SEO, SEM and web analytics full-time for a software company. I’m also a parent and an amateur farmer. My work experience includes:

  • One small dotcom startup
  • One small software company
  • One medium-sized Internet software company
  • One major cable TV online portal
  • One major cable TV network
  • One year of agency SEO and SEM
  • One year in a professional research capacity in Digital Media
  • Two years as a project manager
  • Two years as a web developer
  • Five years managing in-house SEO and SEM strategy from the ground up
  • Eight years of Web Analytics

Sundial SEO focuses on issues and trends in search engine optimization, search marketing, social media marketing and web analytics. The blog isn’t intended to win popularity contests or make me an SEO rockstar, it’s just a place for me to dump my thoughts and maybe have a little fun. Comments, suggestions, and even criticism are welcomed.

Two of my favorite quotes:

Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted, counts. — Albert Einstein

What gets measured gets done. — Tom Peters

I subscribe to the SEO Code of Ethics and provide only white-hat consulting services. I belong to the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO) and the Web Analytics Association, and hold a Google Qualified Adwords Professional designation.

This site is powered by the mighty WordPress, and the fabulous theme is Thesis by Chris Pearson.
